1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the BrightLock application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you do not have permission to access or use the App. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and AHK Production.

2. Use License

Subject to these Terms, AHK Production grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use BrightLock for your personal, non-commercial use on an Android device that you own or control.

  • You may not modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
  • You may not rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute, or sublicense the App.
  • You may not use the App in any unlawful manner, for any unlawful purpose, or in any manner inconsistent with these Terms.

3. Subscriptions & In-App Purchases

BrightLock offers premium features through auto-renewing subscriptions, processed securely via Google Play Services and managed via RevenueCat.

  • Billing: Payment will be charged to your Google Play Account at confirmation of purchase.
  • Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period.
  • Cancellations: You can manage or cancel your subscriptions by going to your Google Play Account Settings after purchase. Uninstalling BrightLock does not automatically cancel your subscription.

4. Device Permissions Agreement

In order for BrightLock to function correctly, you must explicitly grant certain system permissions. By using the app, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

Accessibility Service API & WRITE_SETTINGS

You agree to grant BrightLock the right to use the Android Accessibility Service API to detect the active foreground application. You understand that this is crucial for the "App-Specific Brightness" feature to function. Furthermore, you grant the Modify System Settings (WRITE_SETTINGS) permission to allow the app to adjust your screen's brightness level automatically.

Revoking these permissions will result in the loss of core application functionalities.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

BrightLock is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. Android ecosystems vary vastly across manufacturers. While we test rigorously, AHK Production makes no warranties that the App will function identically or flawlessly across all Android hardware devices or custom ROMs.

We do not warrant that BrightLock is free of bugs, errors, or vulnerabilities, nor do we guarantee that the app will not interfere with other system-level screen rendering software (such as blue-light filters or custom manufacturer overlays).

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall AHK Production be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (i) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the App; (ii) any conduct or content of any third party on the App; or (iii) unauthorized access, use or alteration of your transmissions or content.

7. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with standard international law, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights.
